Let's Talk About

Jesus

“Jesus is love – The Father is love.”

Memory Verse: “In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.” 1 John 4:9

He came to the earth on a mission of love for each one of us. He came down to this earth as “The Baby” in a manger; but yet "The Son Of GodThe Son Of The King Of Glory. The plan for our redemption was not just an afterthought; but it was a plan before the fall of Adam and Eve.

Because Jesus came to this earth to dwell with man. Every son or daughter of Adam can know He is acquainted with all our trials and grief's and knows how to sympathize with us. Satan represents God’s law as a law of selfishness, but Jesus came to live out god’s law on this earth and show it to be a law of love. God’s love was also manifested to this world in the gift of His Son. “Jesus”

1.     John tells us that God is what? 1 John 4:16 “And we have known and believed the _________ that ________ hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love __________ in God, and God in him.” God is love. We are to be what? Like Christ.

2.     Let’s look at another promise that tells of God’s love. John 3:16 “For _______ so ________ the _________, that he gave His only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” For God so loved the world that he gave his lonely begotten son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. Through belief in God’s son brings life eternal.

3.     How did God show His love for this world?  1 John 4:9 “in this was manifested the ________ of ________ toward us because ________ sent His ___________ ____________ son into the ____________ that we might live through _________.” Romans 8:32. “He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?”

4.     Jesus tells us if we love Him, we will be loved by whom? John 14:21 “He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that _________ ________: and he that loveth me shall be _________ of my __________, and I will ________ _________, and will manifest myself to him.” What does the word manifest mean? It means to make known unto you the thing you need to know.

Let’s go back and look at the first part of this verse in John 14:21. How do we know if we love Jesus? He that loves my commandments and keeps them, he is a child of God by adoption.

Christ life and character was the living out of the law. This is how He is manifested in us, by our living out the law. We read of Jesus life and see the example of life and see the example of how our life should be. We should be like Jesus.

The very first step in approaching God is to believe the love He has for us. (1 John 4:16). It is the drawing of His love that leads us to Him.

5.     Matthew 7:7 says we should what? (3 Parts). “________, and it shall be given you; ________, and ye shall find; __________, and it shall be opened unto you:” “ask and it shall be given you, seek, and ye shall find, knock and it shall be opened unto you.

“The Lord specifies no conditions except that you hunger for His mercy, desire His counsel, and long for His love.” Thoughts from The Mount Of Blessing 130

6.     Ask: this shows that we realize our need of his help, and when we ask in faith we will receive.

7.     Seek: 1 Chronicles 28:9 “And thou, Solomon my son, know thou the God of thy father, and serve him with a perfect heart and with a willing mind: for the LORD searcheth all hearts, and understandeth all the imaginations of the thoughts: if thou _______ him, _______ will be __________ of thee; but if thou forsake him, he will cast thee off for ever.” When we are drawn to Christ this is The Holy Spirit working on the heart.

8.      Knock: Let us knock and wait at the door of mercy with assurance for his answer. Luke 11:13 “If ye then, being evil, know how to give _________ _________ unto your __________: how much more shall your ___________ ___________ give The Holy Spirit to them that ________ __________? The Holy Spirit is the greatest of all the gifts, for with it comes “All Good Things”

9.     With The Holy Spirit IN our hearts, will the love of Jesus and The Father be seen in us? Romans 5:5 “And hope maketh not ashamed; because the _________ of ________ is ________ ________ in our hearts by the ________ _______ which is given unto us.”

10.  When we appreciate God’s love, like David we will be praising God for HIS loving kindness. Psalms 36:7 “How excellent is thy _____________, O God! therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of thy wings.” We are under His wing if we trust in Him.

11.  How are we to walk, based on Christ love for us? Ephesians 5:2 “And ________ in ________, as __________ also hath ___________ _________, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.”

12.  When we have this love for Christ that we should have. What will be our attitude toward others? Remember God so loved this world that he gave us the gift of His Son who gave His life for us. 1 John 3:16 (First Part) “Hereby perceive we the ________ of _______, because he _______ ______ his ________ for us (so how much love do we have for others?) (Last Part) “…and we ought to _______ ________ our _________ for the __________.” “how much love do I really have for Jesus? Would I be willing to give my life that my friend or family member may be saved because of it? Only Christ can fill the heart with this kind of love, we don’t have it within ourselves to produce this love, it is a gift from heaven.

13.  Just because we are loved by The Father and The Son, (Jesus) does that mean everything will go good for us? Will we be without trials or problems? No way! Hebrews 12:6 “For ________ the __________ __________ he ____________, and ________ every son whom he _____________.” We must be tested and tried to see how strong our faith is in Him. Will we let go and doubt his promises because we fall on hard times, or are in need? No! Times like these we are tested and if our faith and love for Him is strong, these trials will work in our behalf, which is for our best good.

14.  Can anything separate us from the love of God? Romans 8:38, 39. “For I am persuaded, that neither _______, nor ________, nor angels, nor principalities, nor _________, nor ________ present, nor things to come, Nor ________, nor _______, nor any other ___________, shall be able to _________ us from the __________ of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” We should not let anyone or anything come between us and our love for Jesus.

15.  Just how long lasting is this love Jesus has for us? Jeremiah 31:3 “The __________ hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have _______ __________ with an __________ love: therefore with __________________ have I drawn thee.”

16.  Jesus loved us so much that he left heaven came down here to this old sinful world and lived and died so that we may be with Him in Heaven, He will come for His saints soon. Revelation 1:5, 6 “And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that ________ _________, and washed us from our sins in his __________ _________, And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for _______ and ___________. Amen.” Notice the part that says, He will make us to be kings and priest unto God.

At His Feet

“Years ago, on the west coast of Africa, a young girl brought a large amount of money to a Christian missionary. “This is my offering” she told him, “for my beautiful Savior.”

The missionary gazed at the gift in surprise. “How did you come by so much money? He asked.

The girl explained that she had gone to a plantation and sold herself to the owner as a slave. “This money is the price of myself,” she told the missionary. “My Savior has done so much for me. Now I lay down my life at his feet.”

What a lesson for us today! We may never literally be the slave of another human, yet we each must choose which master we will obey. Will you yield yourself to the control of the enemy – or will you lay your life at the feet of Jesus? “know ye not, that whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?” Romans 6:16 I choose to be a servant of Christ.

17.  What is a good way for us to show our love for Jesus and others? By love, unselfish love, we will care about others and we will work to lead them to Christ. A labor prompted by love, for we want to see others souls saved for the Christ kingdom, no matter how hard the work. John 14:15 “If ye ________ me, keep my commandments.”

What is Jesus to me? Jesus is Lord. And if I love Him I will keep His commandments, just like a child that loves his parents, will keep his parents commands.

We are reconciled to God by Jesus death for our sins.

We are justified by his life pure and free from our sins.

We are sanctified by obeying His words.

AND soon he will come and take us home with him,

We will receive glorification.

Praise him for his love to us.
